The Chicago Cardinals are from the 19th Century!

But were previously known as the Racine Cardinals... in Racine Avenue, Chicago -- where the Morgan Athletic Association spawned the team, circa 1899 -- now gone as many years as it called Illinois home.

Originally registered in the American Professional Football Association charter of 1920 as the Racine Cardinals, ownership adapted the home town as its name prefix before the year was out: Chicago Cardinals.

The team moved to St. Louis in 1960, moving again to Phoenix in 1988.

More history to be found in team ballcaps and dropkick shirts, including Racine Cardinals' gear.
